About Me
On stage
Even as a child, I wanted to become a singer. The longing to engage with my voice was always there.
I am deeply grateful to have been able to make singing and performing my profession—with all the joys and challenges that come with a professional career.
At the same time, I quickly became aware of my physical and vocal limitations. What it means to lose control over one’s voice. The pressure and fears that come with it.
Even though I could not yet make sense of it at the time, my voice showed me very early on that it is more than what I want from it—or the techniques I use in an attempt to master it.
Even though for many years my body was primarily a source of tension and anxiety, it was also what ultimately showed me a new way of relating to myself. Its spontaneous impulses, reactions, and movements set me on a path—and eventually led me to Focusing, body awareness, the nervous system, and trauma work.
Through my own process and later through my therapeutic training, I learned what happens when we truly listen to our voice and our body, rather than trying to use or control them. That there is something within us that responds when we begin to listen.
Something that already knows what the next step might look like, even if the mind doesn’t understand it yet.
And how much can sometimes shift when someone truly listens to you for a moment.
This continues to shape the way I understand voice, body, and human growth to this day.
On the way
On the way
Onwards
To this day, this part of my journey continues to unfold.
Between what is happening within me and how my voice responds to it. Some things first reveal themselves in my life and only later in my voice.
With other things, it is exactly the other way around. Some things become clear to me immediately. Others I only come to understand many years later.
This impresses me to this day:
how deeply voice, body, the nervous system, and inner experience are interconnected.
And again and again, I am amazed when I notice that my voice seems to know something before I can understand it myself. And how it keeps showing me that things can unfold in entirely unexpected ways.
Just sing
No matter what has changed—the joy of singing has always remained.
Perhaps even more so today than before.
Just singing. Sounding. Exploring tones and sounds.
Alongside this came the joy of accompanying others in their relationship with their voice.
Witnessing the moment when the voice suddenly enables a small new experience—and perhaps even a new way of seeing oneself.
For me, being part of moments like these is a gift.
I’d love to hear about your voice, too.
My therapeutic training
Based on my own search, I spent many years immersing myself in the fields of Focusing, trauma work, the nervous system, body awareness, and applied voice physiology.
Today, I am a Certified Focusing Professional (TIFI – The International Focusing Institute, New York) and have completed training in trauma-sensitive body psychotherapy (Somatic Emotional Integration®) as well as the Lichtenberger® Method of Applied Voice Physiology.
My path has been further enriched through in-depth studies in MBSR, Nonviolent Communication, and breath and movement work.
All of these experiences shape my work today: the connection between voice, body awareness, relationship, and inner experiencing.
